5 Homemade Fall Coffee Creamers (Two of My Favorites Inside)

There is something about fall that makes me want to slow down in the morning.

Not in a "skip everything and stay in bed" kind of way — more like a linger over your coffee a little longer kind of way. And one of the simplest ways I've found to make that happen? A really good homemade creamer.

I know, I know. The store shelves are full of them this time of year. But once you make your own, it's hard to go back. You control what goes in it, the flavor is fresher, and honestly — it just feels like a small act of taking care of yourself.

I put together five fall flavors that I love, and today I'm sharing two of my favorites right here. For all five, head over to the video — I walk through each one and it's a fun watch if you're a coffee person.

Pumpkin Spice Creamer

Let's start with the classic.

I know pumpkin spice gets a lot of eye rolls, but when it's made from scratch with real spices — not artificial flavoring — it's genuinely delicious. Warm, cozy, and just the right amount of sweet.

What you'll need:

  • 1 cup heavy cream (or half-and-half)
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 3 tablespoons pure maple syrup (or adjust to taste)
  • 2 tablespoons pumpkin puree
  • 1 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract

How to make it:

Combine all ingredients in a small saucepan over medium-low heat. Whisk gently until everything is blended and the mixture is just warmed through — you're not looking to boil it, just bring it together. Remove from heat, let it cool slightly, then pour into a jar or bottle with a lid. Store in the refrigerator for up to one week. Shake well before each use.

That's it. Seriously.

Pour a splash into your morning coffee and you've got a fall drink that feels like a treat without a trip to the drive-through.

Caramel Apple Crisp Creamer

This one surprised me the first time I made it.

I wasn't sure how "apple" would translate in a coffee creamer, but it works beautifully. It's sweet and warm with just a hint of apple and that buttery caramel note that makes you think of a crisp fall afternoon.

What you'll need:

  • 1 cup heavy cream (or half-and-half)
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 3 tablespoons caramel sauce (store-bought is fine)
  • 2 tablespoons unsweetened apple butter
  • ½ teaspoon cinnamon
  • ¼ teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract

How to make it:

Same simple process — combine everything in a small saucepan over medium-low heat and whisk until smooth and warmed through. The apple butter blends in beautifully and gives it that subtle apple flavor without being overpowering. Cool, jar it up, refrigerate, and shake before using. Keeps for up to one week.

This one is especially good in a latte or with a darker roast coffee. Trust me on that.

I also made Maple Brown Sugar, Cinnamon Vanilla, and Toasted Hazelnut — and they are all just as easy and just as good. Head over to the video to see all five come together. I walk through each one and share a few tips along the way.
